Mammootty Inaugurated Mathrubhumi Music

Megastar Mammootty inaugurated the new venture of Mathrubhumi, 'Mathrubhumi Music' last day. Minnaminnikootam, The first audio release of Mathrubhumi Music was also in the function.

Director Kamal has released the songs of his latest movie Minnaminnikoottam.Two songs of the movie are youth-oriented fast numbers. Manjari, Sayanora, Sujatha Karthik, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Renjith , Soumya, Sissily Raghuram and Raghy are the other playback singers of this album.

Minnaminnikoottam, with a gang of young actors including Narain, Jayasurya, Indrajith, Meera Jasmine, Roma, Samvrutha and Radhika, is now in its last phase of shooting and will grace theatres on 12th July.


Kuttisranku : Shooting in Progress, Mammootty act as a Chavittunadakam Artist

Renowned filmmaker Shaji N. Karun's latest movie Kutty Sranku's Shooting has started at the backwaters of Alappuzha. This movie is to feature Mammootty as a Chavittunatakam artist. Kamalinee Mukherjee, one of the heroines, will be cast as the daughter of a Chavittunatakam teacher.

The story revolves around the character of Mammootty who is known by different names in different areas. As Mammootty act in diferent roles, it will feature three heroines, Padmapriya, Kamalinee Mukherjee and Meenakumari from Srilanka.Also in the cast are Kozhikode Sharada, Suresh Krishna, Siddhique, Krishnan, Rajiv Kalamasserry and Rajesh Sharma.

As Chavittunadakam featured in this film, a thattu (platform for the art form) has been constructed. Thirty artists including Mammootty are being trained in the various steps of the art form by Fr. V.P. Joseph of 'Aalappuzha Pauranika Ranga Kala Peedom' to support their realistic performances in the movie.

The film is produced by Reliance Entertainment under the banner of Big Motion Pictures, the first-ever production by Anil Ambani's newly launched entertainment concern in Malayalam. It will be shot in three schedules in and around Alappuzha. As the film is based on the change in seasons, environmental and climatic changes, the second and third schedule of the movie will be shot by the end of September and December respectively.

One Way Ticket Releases Tomarrow

After the great success of 'Kadha Parayumbol' Mammootty appear in a short cameo as himself in the movie 'One Way Ticket', is ready to release. the film is directed by Vipin Prabhakar, and based on a plot about Kunjaapoo, a jeep driver who is an ardent fan of the star and his effort to maintain a balance between his love for the star and his personal life.

Lakshmi Rai appears for the first time with Prithviraj in this film, which also features Jagathy, Jagadheesh, Thilakan, Salim Kumar, Suraj Venjaramodu, Balachandran Chullikkadu and Sukumari.

The great speciality of this film is that, for the film, a scene in the original scripts for the next Mammootty film 'Parunthu' was shot, to show Kunjali meeting the star in one of his film sets. It is the first time in India, where an original scene of a movie is shot for being used in another movie. The crew of 'Parunthu', director Padmakumar, scriptwriter T A. Razzak and cameraman Sanjeev Shankar also participated in this shoot.

Mammootty starred Mayabazaar in October

Mammootty-starrer Maya Bazaar, to be directed by debutante Thomas Sebastian, will start rolling from October.

Thomas Sebastian, who has been an associate to Sibi Malayil, Sunderdass and Blessy, pens the script for Maya Bazaar along with Govind Vijayan. Produced under the banner of Akhil Movies by Saji Mangalath, Maya Bazaar will have Tamil actor Prakash Raj (who was last seen in Malayalam in Paandipada) in a key role.

Mammootty is being pitted against two heroines, one of whom will be Meera Vasudev. The cast will also include Nedumudi Venu, Suraaj Venjaramoodu, Innocent, Salim Kumar etc. Mammootty plays a very down-to-earth kind of role in the film, a labourer named Sivankutty. Seems like Maya Bazaar is going to be a very interesting kind of project for the versatile super-star!

Mammootty ang Johny Antony again together for 'Pattanathil Bhootam'

Hit-making director Johnny Antony (of CID Moosa, Kochiraajaavu, and Thuruppugulaan fame) is all set to join hands once again with Mammootty. The last time the two had teamed up was in Thuruppugulaan. Johnny Antony and Mammootty are once again coming together in Pattanathil Bhootham, produced by Benjamin under the banner of High Bright Movie Makers.

Scripted by Sibi K. Thomas and Udayakrishna, Pattanathil Bhootham tells the story of Jimmy, who is a wonder of a bike-rider, always doing something adventurous with his bike. Certain strange things happen in the life of Jimmy, who has lived all his life on the streets.

Jagathy Sreekumar, Salim Kumar, Suraaj Venjaramoodu, Innocent etc play key roles in the film, which features cinematography by Sanjeev Shankar and art-direction by Saloo K. George. The film is likely to start rolling by August end or early September and get released during Christmas this year.

Mammootty team up with Reliance and Shaji Karun

Megastar Mammootty to be team up with award winning director Shaji N. Karun and Reliance big entertainment.Mammootty, who is on a roll with all his releases this year becoming super hits, is upbeat about his latest film "Kutti Srank" with award winning director Shaji N. Karun, shooting for which will begin June 15.

This is the first time the two acclaimed veterans of the Malayalam film industry will be teaming together.

Shaji began his career as a cinematographer and later turned to direction, with his first film "Piravi" that was released in 1989 winning him the prestigious Camera d’Or-Mention d’honneur at the Cannes Film Festival.Since then, every film of Shaji has attracted international attention.

"Kutti Srank" that translates into boat driver has Mammooty playing the lead role. It unfolds through the impressions three women living on different islands form of him when he arrives to deliver supplies.

Mammooty, in turn, reacts differently to what the three women have to say about him.

"I am really excited because I will be playing three different characters but not three different roles," Mammootty told IANS.

"It is going to be a challenge for me because the basic nature of all the three characters is the same but there are different behavioural patterns and mannerisms based on what the three women say," he added.

The storyline of the film, Shaji’s fifth, is being kept under wraps. It is scheduled for an international premier at next year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The names of the female leads have also not been revealed beyond that one will be a Sri Lankan and the other a Bengali actress, while the third is still under consideration.

The film will be shot in three schedules, all of them along the Kerala coast.Anjali, who has been working with acclaimed cinematographer Santosh Sivan, will crank the camera for the film, while its fight sequences will be staged by a Japanese firm that handles the action sequences for Jackie Chan films.

"Kutti Srank" will also mark the maiden entry of Reliance Big Entertainment into the Malayalam film industry.

Mammootty Released Logo of Cultural Organisation

Megastar Mammootty on Wednesday released the logo of Kerala Samskriti, a cultural organisation based in Kozhikode.

The Mega star released the logo by handing it over to writer K.P. Sudheera. Script writer T.A. Razzak, Keral Samskriti president P.A. Ibrahim Kutty and general secretary Navas Punoor among others attended the function.

The function held at Hotel Taj Malabar here which Mammootty like to stay and dine when he reach at calicut. Mammootty on his finishing work of his film 'Parunthu' which shooted in Calicut and he may leave today or tomarrow to Alappey for his new film 'Kuttisranku'.

Mammootty Inaugurated Saboo Coloniaa Institute of Design

Calicut, June 10 2008 : Megastar Mammootty Inaugurated Saboo Coloniaa Insitute of Design at Calicut. It was a Crowd pulling function. Mammootty reached there with his brand new Audi Q7.
The great Adman and founder of this institute Saboo Coloniaa followed Mammootty to the institute. Film star Jagathi Sreekumar also attended the function.

On inaugural address Mammootty said that : "Saboo Colonia, one of the Admans who did more ads of my films, started this designing institute to provide more Admans like him to the world. Wishing all the best for this institute......"

Mammootty as the Chief Guest of WMC

Malayalam film Megastar Mammootty has been invited to be the chief guest at the 6th World Malayalee Conference 2008 in Singapore Aug 22-24.

As the report of IANS, Mammootty confirmed that he has been invited and will attend the event.

It is organized by the World Malayalee Council (WMC), established in 1995 in the US. The past five conferences were attended by Malayali professionals from over 30 countries.

The main aim of the WMC is to network Malayalis around the world and create a global community, which is able to communicate with each other and maintain the Malayali identity.

However, it is the most momentous occassion for malayalees who loves Mammootty, as he got the chance to be the part of the function. Again and again we Can Proud of Mammootty...........
