Kuttysranku: A Magical Realism from Mammootty

Mamootty’s Kuttysranku portray the plot by ‘Magical Realism’. The film has three heroines and Kuttysranku (Mammootty) is shown through the different viewpoints of the women. The spirituality of Buddhism, interest in art and human concern — these three impressions are included in this film.

Mammootty has taken this character as a challenge. As an actor, he has received a number of national as well as state awards; director Shaji  N. Karun is also well-experienced  and has won a great number of awards. His first film Piravi won him his first National Award and numerous others have followed.

Two schedules of Kuttysranku have been completed; the third and last schedule would be at Kundapura near Mookambika. The three heroines are Padmapriya, Kamalini Mukherjee and well known Sri Lankan actress Meena Kumari. Meena Kumari, who is known as Vasudha here, has won an award in Sri Lanka.
